Role Descriptions: Job Title: Microsoft Purview DSPM & Data Security Lead Role Summary Hands-on Microsoft Purview Data Security Specialist with lead capabilities| responsible for designing| implementing| and operationalizing Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions across Microsoft 365 environments. Key Responsibilities 1. DSPM & Data Security Engineering (Primary Focus) Lead end-to-end deployment and operationalization of DSPM capabilities within Microsoft Purview Implement and manage: o Data discovery and classification o Sensitive Information Types (SITs) o Trainable classifiers and custom taxonomy Analyze data exposure risks and define remediation strategies Build and maintain data risk dashboards and posture insights Continuously enhance data visibility across structured and unstructured data estates 2. DLP Engineering & Policy Optimization Design and implement DLP policies across: o Exchange Online o SharePoint Online / OneDrive o Microsoft Teams o Endpoint devices Configure: o Policy rules| conditions| and exceptions o Adaptive protection and contextual controls o Endpoint DLP integrations Monitor alerts| investigate incidents| and tune policies to reduce false positives Drive data exfiltration prevention and secure collaboration controls 3. Microsoft Purview Compliance & Protection Capabilities Implement and manage: o Sensitivity labels and auto-labeling policies o Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) o Data Lifecycle Management (retention policies/labels) o Insider Risk Management & Communication Compliance (desirable) Align Purview controls with overall data governance and compliance strategy 4. Architecture| Integration & Platform Alignment Integrate Purview with: o Microsoft Entra ID o Microsoft Defender ecosystem o Endpoint and cloud applications Support advanced configurations (APIs| automation| scripting where required) Ensure scalable| secure data protection architecture across enterprise environments 5. Monitoring| Reporting & Continuous Optimization Develop dashboards and reports for: o Data risk posture o Policy effectiveness o Compliance metrics Continuously optimize: o DSPM insights o DLP policies o Classification accuracy 6. Strategy| Governance & Stakeholder Engagement (Secondary Focus) Collaborate with security| compliance| legal| and business stakeholders to gather requirements Translate regulatory and business requirements into technical controls Support data protection strategy| governance frameworks| and rollout planning Perform gap assessments and recommend improvements in data protection posture Contribute to implementation runbooks| standards| and operating procedures 7. Licensing & Feature Enablement Provide expertise on Microsoft 365 E3 vs E5 capabilities Map Purview features to licensing tiers Recommend optimal use of: o E5 Compliance / E5 Security o Purview solut
