Overview: Middleware architect provides technical support to client and technology management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies. Duties & Responsibilities: Provide presales technical support for the development and implementation of customer applications Drives development methodology, and owns development team tools, processes, and deliverables Involve in the services presales to understand customer requirement and to develop services proposal (SOW) Provide architectural leadership in evaluating new releases of IBM MQ and recommending which features would provide most benefit to Synchrony Financial applications Systematically review existing processes with the vision to introducing new or improved processes that lead to increased efficiency and accuracy in reporting and data analysis Work proactively with managerial staff and end-users to develop effective and accessible business intelligence solutions which could include designing and maintaining a wide variety of reports on such things as effectiveness of marketing efforts, return on investment (ROI) and trend analysis, and other strategic reports Qualifications for middleware architect: • Designs/implements/manages Web technologies using web application servers and the operating systems they run on • A minimum of 10 years professional work experience, including at least 6-7 years of work with complex platforms • Balance of strategic and tactical skills, creative thinking skills • 7+ years of experience with full life cycle Java application development, including proven middleware architecture experience (Agile, SCM, CI, TDD, SOA, MOM, governance, high availability, scaling, distributed applications,clustering) • Good presentation and communication skills with ability to develop and present to high level executive, deep-dive technical presentation • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related technology discipline |
