Job Description: Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Capital Markets Business Analyst with strong expertise in Product Control, Financial Reporting, data mapping, and business process analysis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record analyzing complex workflows, writing high‑quality business and functional requirements, and working with SQL, APIs, and event-driven data flows. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities. The Business Analyst will collaborate with technology teams, operations, finance, and Product Control partners to support enhancements to trade booking, reporting platforms, and downstream systems. Stakeholder management—both formal and informal—is a key success factor.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business functions, workflows, upstream and downstream data inputs/outputs across Capital Markets domains. Perform detailed data mapping and impact assessments across trade booking and reporting systems. Write clear, comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs). Develop process flow diagrams, use cases, and workflow models to support solution design. Conduct analysis using SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting. Work with REST APIs and event-driven architectures to understand system interactions. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Front Office, Product Control, Finance, Operations, and Technology. Support development, testing, and release management processes throughout the SDLC. Utilize JIRA for project tracking, backlog refinement, user story creation, and requirement management. Provide high‑quality communication and reporting to senior stakeholders. Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting timelines and multiple priorities. Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices and documentation standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
8–10 years of experience as a Capital Markets Business Analyst. Exposure to Product Control and Financial Reporting functions. Strong experience with data mapping and data lineage documentation. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes, workflows, dependencies, and integration points. Strong documentation skills: BRDs, FRDs, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Hands-on experience with:
SQL (queries, data analysis) REST APIs and event-driven mechanisms JIRA and similar project management tools
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored for technical and business audiences. Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with competing demands. Knowledge of SDLC, Agile practices, and release management processes. Working knowledge of TDS technology platforms, trade booking systems, and downstream reporting (preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders effectively across levels and functions.
