Job Summary: The Azure Solution Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance Azure-based solutions, with a strong focus on data platforms and analytics. This role provides architectural leadership across Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Purview, security, and enterprise integrations, ensuring alignment with business strategy, governance standards, and cloud best practices.
Key Responsibilities: Solution & Cloud Architecture: o Design end-to-end Azure solution architectures aligned with business, technical, and security requirements. o Define reference architectures, design patterns, and best practices for enterprise Azure implementations. o Lead architecture reviews, design approvals, and technical governance. Microsoft Fabric Architecture: o Architect analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric o Design Fabric Lakehouse architectures leveraging OneLake. o Define data ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and reporting patterns within Fabric. o Ensure performance optimization, scalability, and cost efficiency in Fabric workloads. Azure Services o Provide architectural leadership across core Azure services: o Compute: App Services, Functions, AKS o Data: ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB o Messaging: Event Hub, Service Bus o Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics o Drive cloud-native, scalable, and cost-optimized designs. Security o Design secure Azure architectures following Zero Trust principles. o Implement identity and access management using Azure AD (Entra ID), RBAC, and PIM. o Architect data security controls like Encryption at rest and in transit, Network security and Data loss prevention and sensitivity labels o Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC, etc.). Data Integration o Architect and oversee data integration pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Azure Data Factory Event-driven integrations (Event Hub, Kafka) and o API-based integrations o Design batch and near real-time data ingestion patterns. o Ensure reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant integration frameworks. Data Architecture o Design modern data architectures (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Medallion architecture). o Define data models (conceptual, logical, physical) and analytical schemas (star/snowflake). o Guide teams on data quality, data lifecycle management, and data standards. o Support AI/ML-ready data architectures.
Required Skills and Qualifications: 10–15+ years of IT experience with strong background in solution and data architecture. 5+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience. Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric and modern analytics platforms. Deep knowledge of Azure data services and integration patterns. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.
Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, and governance. Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate. Familiarity with data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Experience with other data catalog tools (e.g., Purview, Collibra, Alation, Informatica) is a plus. Knowledge of APIs and automation for metadata ingestion and customization. |
